ExESS software options

ExESS® provides users a comprehensive and globally compliant solution for the authoring and distribution of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). Built on flexible and scalable Microsoft .NET technology, ExESS is user friendly and can be installed on a few workstations, over worldwide corporate networks, or accessed and used via the cloud.

ExESS GHS- and transportation calculations and SDS templates

Available for the following countries and their directives: CLP, the UN, the EU, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, Turkey and Indonesia. In addition: OSHA, ANSI and Transportation classifications (ADR/RID/ADN, DOT, ICAO, IMDG, UN RTDG, RES420 regulation).

Country-specific classifications are supported also, such as the Austrian VbF, the German BetrSichV, Störfallverordnung and WGK; VOCs for the EU, US and Swiss VOCV, as well as the Danish MAL, ABM for the Netherlands and for the US NFPA and HMIS-ratings.

Furthermore, Lisam offers occupational exposure limit values and caters for biological limit values, SEVESO etc.

Options for integrated regulation databases

ExESS offers a wide range of cost-effective, integrated regulatory content options, such as Lisam’s OEL lists, EU GHS and REACH libraries and US State/Federal lists. One key differentiator is that Lisam also offers customers their choice of fully integrated regional third-party libraries, including BIG for the EU, JCDB for Japan, SRICI for China and ChemADVISOR’s LOLI® for global content. All options include automated ‘push-button’ content updates.

On-Screen Classification Analysis

ExESS allows users to view and export to MS Excel the calculation and underlying data (including source) used for arriving at a classification.

Document templates

A wide range of multilingual templates is available: (M)SDS documents (fully compatible with ANSI Z400.1-2010, REACH appendix II and GHS / JIS for Japan, South Korea, etc.); Labels; Workplace Instruction Cards; certificates; etc.

Reports

ExESS also has a very flexible, user-friendly report layout designer and template editor which allows creation of new and modified report templates and the built-in MS Word and MS Excel report template generator caters for both individual (single) and batch (bulk) reporting.

Phrase & Pictogram Librarie

ExESS contains more than 14,000 pre-defined Lisam phrases and text-snippets, and over 6000 validated phrases translated into 50 languages. Lisam`s libraries also contain more than 500 pictograms. ExESS also offers the option to use 30 languages for drawing up extended SDSs and the ability to easily import and use the client’s own phrase library.

Flexible, simple, and scalable data import and export functions for texts, data and templates (XML, txt, Excel, etc.).

Data Management

Many features are available in ExESS to ensure efficient data management. These include:

  • Input screens to draw up SDSs and streamline management.
  • More than 300 field types and more than 5000 predefined fields, with the option to add new fields and edit existing ones.
  • User-friendly Application Designer to modify existing screens and create new ones. Scripting in each property field for total flexibility and control.
  • Data gap analyses and intelligent Google search functions.

Family Data Inheritance

Users have the option of copying product data and product family data can also be inherited. All the products thus inheriting can be maintained in one single location, i.e. the family product. Changes to the highest level are automatically applied to the inheriting products.

Change Tracking

Full audit log. Each change is tracked including the old/new value, time and person responsible.

Versioning

Automated versioning with major and minor change management and automatic re-numbering of document versions; detailed and automated version change tracking.

Automated messaging/Warnings

Missing translations, incorrect classifications and many other warning and error messages help the user in the SDS authoring process.

Document Distribution

Lisam`s PUBLICHEM® module provides ExESS users a complete document management functionality including: circulation, updating and distribution of your safety documents with electronic records for all activity. Web-based interface is also available.
